Education is the most effective weapon that dwells within our society. This fact has been proven since the world began, yesterday, today, tomorrow, even the future of the world. Without education, modernization would be obsolete, there would be no place for technology, and man would still be living in caves, hunting for food among the wild.
With this in mind, Bishop Edwards knew that he had to do something that would instill the dynamics of learning and understanding in the lives of all that he pastors and those that would like to get in on the great secret of efficient learning. Like Booker T. Washington, Edwards knew that total freedom only comes with effective education. Being educated is the most important factor of self-help.
After witnessing the failures of public schools, Edwards began searching for the best curriculum to start an academy that would give children a higher learning capability that would cause them to excel beyond the normal expectations of grade-school children. In 1983, the answer was found! Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) gives a child the opportunity to learn at his/her own capacity, within the four walls. REACH businesses provide the developmental assurances to train these children to be entrepreneurs of their own businesses.
REACH’s main objective is to produce children that are capable of running businesses and institutions efficiently anywhere. If you have the God-given ability to learn, why not put it to practice, perfect it, and use it to govern your own establishment? It’s good to find a respectable job to demonstrate your intellect, but it’s greater to own a business that will free you as well as others. This is the bond that REACH and ACE share.
Booker T. Washington, Marcus Garvey, George Washington Carver, Madam C.J. Walker, Mary McCloud Bethune, etc. were educators that excelled in the their fields and were willing to teach others. They didn’t climb to their blossomed peek overnight; they just took advantage of the opportunity that was granted to them and excelled. This is reality of “The Dream” for the young boys and girls that graduate from Christ Temple Academy!
Christ Temple Academy offers education to preschoolers and students in kindergarten through 12th grade. These students finish high school with the knowledge of students beginning their junior year of college.
It is the endeavor of REACH to supply the academy with everything necessary to ensure a bright future for our youth. Therefore it is imperative to seek the very best for these children.
Computers are exciting tools to work with at the academy. It’s a great adventure for the children, regardless of their physical conditions.
These students are dedicated to higher learning. They work diligently to accomplish their dreams. That’s why we have to take advantage of every opportunity to instill greatness in them, while learning is prevalent in their minds.
It is easy to teach a child that wants to learn. When a child is willing and ready to learn, he/she will advance themselves. ACE curriculum teaches math, English, science, social studies, and word building. Every year Christ Temple Academy adds different subjects to keep the students interested; this year it’s art and creative writing. |
